Abandoned property hotel in Southern California it was built in the 1900’s and opened in 1917. Sadly, this place has been boarded up since 1939, but not much has changed inside ever since because for over 70 years this property has been caught in a fierce legal battle over ownership.
This place preserves the Spanish Revival-style. Being once the destination for upper class of California and Hollywood’s elite, this hotel still can boast with antique relics and other amazing things including untouched statues and other beautiful decorations.
It is gorgeous inside even though it went through a tragic fire in 1939 that killed over 45 people from powerful and rich families. These deaths resulted in lawsuits, owners’ disgrace, contractors being sent to jail and even fire code laws of California being changed. Have idea if this hotel would ever re-open again, but this property is surely worth visiting. The hotel was built in the Spanish Revival-style at the turn of the century.

I recently came across an old antique pocket watch that belonged to my great grandfather. On the back the watch is engraved with No. 3678 Kew Certificate Class “A” 80.2 Marks. When opened it is engraved with H Golay 46 Middleton Square London. Would love to know if this watch has any sort of value but any sort of information on the piece would be welcome.
